OBJECTIVE

The objective of this assignment is to evaluate learners’ cognitive, skills and competencies for the challenges of supporting individuals experiencing acute or chronic conditions of the hematology and cardiology system. 

SYNOPSIS

Mr. Alex, a 58-year-old man who has been experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath for the past few weeks. Mr. Alex initially ignore these symptoms, attributing them to stress and fatigue. However, the discomfort persisted, he decided to go for a medical consultation.

In the hospital, during the consultation, Mr. Alex undergoes a thorough examination, including an electrocardiogram (ECG) and blood test. The results show some abnormalities in his ECG suggesting a possible issue with his heart and he was referred to a cardiologist. After reviewed by the cardiologist, further investigations were done. Mr. Alex was diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease. He was recommended for a Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG).

 REQUIREMENT:
