The purpose of this assignment is to enhance learners’ ability to apply the concept and theories of organisational behaviour in meeting the challenges and opportunities for managers in managing the organisation, as well as to adapt the theories and concepts in a real organisation setting.

Requirements

Assuming that you are a manager of well-known MNC status organisation in Malaysia, and you are having diverse cultural background of employees. Your top management was getting worried about the work cultural differences and stagnating work productivity of the employees in the company. The management has asked you to answer the following question “is there a connection between culture value and employee motivation?”.

You are required to study on the Hofstede’s cultural dimensions. Make comparisons of the dimensions between Malaysia’s cultural differences with any other TWO (2) countries. Next, select a motivation theory that the organisation can implement to align motivational factors across diverse cultural backgrounds. Then, propose to the top management on the suitable shared values for organisation and strategies to boost motivation of employees.
